Camp GraylingEach year Mid-Michigan Kennels Inc. invites its Police Canine graduates back for a week long refresher In-Service training. This year the training was conducted at Camp Grayling, a Michigan National Guard base in northern Michigan. COL Gary McConnell (Ret.) facilitated all the training sites, lodging, and meals. COL McConnell runs the Northern Michigan Law Enforcement Training Group which assist law enforcement with the many uses for the military base. Mid-Michigan Kennels Inc and all the attendees thank COL McConnell and the base for all of its help and support this year.

This year Mid-Michigan Kennels Inc invited the International Police Work Dog Association (IPWDA) to send Master Trainers to certify our teams in Explosive, and Narcotics detection as well as tracking, obedience, building and area searches and aggression and control. Master Trainers Mark Mathis and Al Gil certified 34 teams in accordance with IPWDA standards. Both Master Trainers offerred both the certifications as well as training advise and experiences. Mid-Michigan Kennels and all the the attendees thank the IPWDA for their assistance in making this one of our best In-Service training weeks. This week long training event proved to both challenging and rewarding for all that attended. We look forward to next years In-Service.
